HOW OTHER STATES FUND THEIR MOTORCYCLE SAFETY PROGRAMS | ||

You asked how other states fund their motorcycle safety programs.
SUMMARY
The majority of the states fund their motorcycle safety programs through a percentage of their motorcycle registration plate fees. Other sources of funding include driver license fees, motorcycle learners permit fees, student tuition from the motorcycle safety classes, and direct state appropriations. Table 1 explains the source of funding for 38 states for which we were able to obtain information.
