You asked for a brief summary of the bill that the General Law Committee favorably reported to the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee.
HB 5612-AN ACT CONCERNING SMALL MANUFACTURER ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR PERMITS
This bill reduces the annual liquor permit fee for certain manufacturers of alcoholic liquor from $ 1,600 to $ 450. To qualify for the reduced permit, a manufacturer must not produce more than 5,000 gallons per year of spirits or wine. The Liquor Control Act defines "spirits" as any beverage containing distilled alcohol mixed with drinkable water and other substances in solution, including brandy, rum, whiskey, and gin.
