ONLINE TEACHER APPLICATIONS

By: Jennifer Gelb, Research Attorney

You asked which states have a uniform online teacher application that is accepted throughout the state. You also wanted to know if Connecticut has an online teacher application.

Many states have uniform teacher applications available through the Internet. These include Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. We have attached their applications for your reference.

Connecticut has its own statewide application, which the regional educational service centers (RESC) administer as part of the Regional Education Application Placement (REAP) program. This program allows prospective teachers to submit a single online application, which school districts can access. It also allows school districts to post job openings. The CT REAP website is www. ctreap. net, and the State Department of Education's website contains a link to it. Several other states also participate in REAP, and CT REAP's website allows visitors to access these sites in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
