AN ACT REQUIRING LANDLORDS TO PROVIDE A RECEIPT FOR CASH PAYMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Subsection (c) of section 47a-3a of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof:
(c) Upon receipt of a payment in cash from or on behalf of an occupant, a landlord shall [, if requested by] provide the person making the payment [, provide such person] with a receipt stating the date of the payment, the amount received and the purpose for which the payment was made.
